Bathroom renovation in Battersea.Terraces and towers, different rules.
Refits across SW11, from Victorian terraces off Northcote Road to apartments along the river. The pressurised systems in newer blocks open up shower options that period houses need extra work to match.
The three things
Battersea decides for you.
Every area sets its own constraints before anyone picks a tile. These are the ones that matter in Battersea, and they get answered at the survey.
Three shapes
most jobs take.
Open the one closest to yours for what it involves locally and how long to allow on site.
Full rebuild with floors levelled, waste reworked where needed and tanking to the wet area. Typically ten to fourteen working days.
Modern rooms rebuilt within concealed services, with access panels retained and building requirements met. Eight to twelve working days.
Fully tanked, level access and no tray. Floor build-up and drainage capacity are checked first, because the waterproofing is invisible once tiled.
Why Battersea bathrooms
are planned differently.
Knowing the housing stock means the design is possible before it is drawn, not after somebody lifts a floor.
Battersea covers two very different kinds of bathroom project. In the terraces around Lavender Hill and Northcote Road the work is the familiar Victorian one: original waste runs, uneven floors, and second bathrooms fitted into rooms never intended for them. In the newer riverside apartments the rooms are modern but the services are concealed and the building sets the rules.
Hot water is where the two diverge most. A terrace on a combi has a ceiling on what shower it can run; an apartment on a pressurised system with a cylinder usually does not. Knowing which you have decides the specification before anyone opens a brochure, and stops money going on a shower the property cannot feed.
Four stages,
dates agreed up front.
You know who is in the house each day and what is happening. No week where nobody turns up because a tiler was double-booked elsewhere.

Recent refits and plumbing work in Battersea and across South London.
Booked a full bathroom refit. The team was punctual and the price matched the quote exactly. Our older Victorian house had complicated pipework and they handled it without any fuss.
Wimbledon
Had a burst pipe on a Sunday evening and TopFix sent someone out within the hour. The plumber explained exactly what was wrong, fixed it cleanly and left everything tidy.
Sutton
Used TopFix twice now, once for a boiler service and once for a radiator that was not heating. Both times on time, honest about the cost and the job done properly.

Call 020 3095 1113Can I have body jets or a rain head?
In a newer apartment on a pressurised system, usually yes. In a terrace on a combi, often not without a pump or stored hot water. We measure and tell you before you choose fittings.
Can you level a Victorian floor?
Yes, and in most SW11 terraces it needs doing. Uneven joists are why tiles crack and shower trays leak, so it is not a corner worth cutting.
Do you work in managed blocks along the river?
Regularly. We agree hours, access and delivery with the building before starting so the schedule holds.
